  • The Contract Disputes Act of 1978, as amended (41 U.S.C. 601-613) applies to nearly all contracts awarded by the U.S. Government. The full text of the CDA may be found at http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode41/usc_sup_01_41_10_9.html.
  • Generally, CDA claims must be first filed with the contracting officer. Claims over $100,000 must be certified by the contractor.
  • A claim that is denied may be appealed to the appropriate board of contract appeals or to the Court of Federal Claims.
  • Information about, and rules for, the newly created Civilian Board of Contract Appeals are found at: http://www.cbca.gsa.gov/
